Preventive Dentistry and Periodontal Care
Over 70% of adults in the United States have some form of gum disease, but they don’t even know it. At Innovative Dental ,through our preventive dentistry services, when we help our patients eliminate the bacterial infections around their teeth, we don’t just help them save their smiles — we’re also fighting against problems like heart disease, stroke, and infertility! Otherwise, that dangerous bacteria can spread straight into your bloodstream, making it harder to manage conditions like pregnancy, diabetes, pneumonia, and the list goes on.
Preventive Teeth Cleanings
Dental prophylaxis, also known as a tooth cleaning, is a procedure that thoroughly cleans the teeth. It is an important preventive dentistry measure that can help stop the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease. We recommend our orally healthy patients come in for a cleaning at least twice a year.
Pediatric Preventive Dental Care
At Innovative Dental Care, we’re proud to offer pediatric care for our youngest patients. Children require special care when it comes to dental visits, such as fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and other services. It’s also important that children learn how to take care of their teeth from an early age, so they can maintain healthy smiles well into adulthood.
We agree with the ADA and are happy to schedule appointments for children to visit our office after their first tooth erupts, then once a year after that. When children reach three or four years of age, they can begin their regular recommended twice-a-year dental checkups and cleanings.
Senior Dental Care
Dr. Morris understands that dental health can significantly change as we age. Older adults may notice natural changes in their dental health, such as gum recession, tooth wear, and stains. Senior dental care can often include replacement of traditional fillings with tooth-colored dental fillings, new dentures, or dental implants. At Innovative Dental Care, we consider the unique aspects of senior dental care, and have the training to provide comprehensive treatment for our senior dental patients.
Experiencing jaw pain, headaches or facial soreness? Protect your smile against excessive wear caused by jaw clenching and grinding.
Extraction is a last resort, but sometimes it is necessary. Badly infected teeth can jeopardize the health of their neighbors. Fortunately, we can help!
Though it isn't always necessary, the best time to have wisdom teeth removed is during a patient's late teenage years or early 20s. These immature wisdom teeth are smaller, so surgery is less complicated and potentially less painful.
If your wisdom teeth have not started to erupt, Dr. Morris will use x-ray imaging to locate them to determine if they are on a problematic trajectory.
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder where patients start and stop breathing several times during the night, interrupting their sleep. A good night’s sleep is necessary for you to maintain a strong immune system and have the energy to carry out the demands of the day. Without sleep, you can quickly become run down and tired, even compromising your overall health. Sleep apnea is also correlated with sudden cardiac death. If you suffer from sleep apnea, promptly contact Innovative Dental Care for a full evaluation.
